iam Dr.Bharat Patodiya I’m so sorry to hear about the difficulties you’re facing post-chemotherapy. Recovery can be very individual, but what you’re describing—fatigue, brain fog, emotional lows—is not uncommon for many patients after finishing treatment.

First, it’s important to acknowledge that chemotherapy’s effects don’t just stop the day treatment ends; it’s a process of gradual recovery. Rest is crucial, and listening to your body is key. Your efforts with short walks, yoga, and therapy are great starting points, but it’s okay to adjust these based on your energy levels and mental capacity each day.

Fatigue related to chemo can be compounded by psychological stress, so don’t hesitate to keep working with a therapist and your medical team. Sometimes supportive care, like mindfulness techniques or even integrating physical rehab sessions, can improve this over time. For brain fog specifically, slowly engaging in tasks that require light focus or problem-solving can be surprisingly effective; simple puzzles or guided meditation apps can help.

One thing you mentioned struck me—the worry about finances and balancing recovery with work. It might help to liaise with your employer to discuss phased returns or additional adjustments. If your employer or healthcare system has social workers or patient support resources, they may help alleviate some of the financial pressures.
